What Ranks Mean! Empty What Ranks Mean!

Post  XxXI G0T YOUXxX Wed Jan 27, 2010 8:42 pm

This is our rank structure. Ranks will be issued based mostly on your TIME IN SERVICE (length of time you have been an official clan member). Other factors that benefit individual promotion is based on your PERFORMANCE in game (How well you play as a TEAM and how well you give or take orders as well as what you do to improve your game-play). Some ranks require an administration commitment or will be given based on clan necessity until proper balance is achieved. Here is a recap of what it takes to rank up in order of importance:

Our clan ranking system is broken up into a 3-tier system. This structure consists of Regulars, Council, and Command. Council, and Command Echelon members will have admin commitments. The Echelons are explained below:

Below are basic examples of what your rank means and the Echelon it falls under. Rank does NOT mean someone is always a better player or person! Rank does NOT provide ANYONE the right to slander or trample fellow members or the gaming community. It is a combination of factors already stated above. These are positions of responsibility, loyalty, ability/talent, and commitment. Many of these positions will not be filled right away as our clan rank structure is still evolving and positions are still being filled.

REGULARS RANKS:
These ranks are oriented towards operations in game focused on follower ship skills and learning to lead when possible. Regulars are expected to be learning about the clan and its members, team concepts, communications, policy, and constant improvement. The Regulars Echelon is the backbone of Team DA. Regulars’ time requirements are progressive.

Recruit (RCT)

Not authorized to wear the da Tag. Recruits can endure a 2-week recruiting process or more at Command or Council discretion. Recruits must read our Total Documentation, play an hour or so with clan mates, and meet minimum requirements below. Preparing for PVT.

Private (PVT)

The Private can wear the [da] Tag for the first time and is considered an official clan member. The Private is expected to be learning all and doing his best. This is the first position with performance requirements. Preparing for PFC.

Private First Class (PFC)

The PFC is progressing through the ranks. This is the first position with game time requirements. The PFC should have developed a degree of relationship with fellow members. Preparing for CPL.

Corporal (CPL)

The CPL has a better awareness of policy, procedure, and clan gaming. He has built or improved loyalty, respect, and relationships. Preparing for SGT.

Sergeant (SGT)

The SGT is multifunctional and versatile and expected to show initiative. Sergeants can be expected to lead or assist higher-ranking members. They are also expected to be more familiar with clan policy. Preparing for SSG.

Staff Sergeant (SSG)

The SSG has more enhanced dedication. They are more adept in game, which includes performance and communications skills. SSgt’s are able to lead small teams with some degree of effectiveness. Preparing for SFC.

Sergeant First Class (SFC)

The SFC has a strong sense of duty and willingness to help fellow clan mates. He is in preparation for Council indoctrination and/or administration roles. He has increased focus and efforts on administration proficiency and gaming abilities simultaneously. Preparing for Council duties. Preparing for MSG or 1Sgt.

LOWER COUNCIL RANKS:
These positions are oriented towards administration duties out of game while still performing in game operations with higher standards. Council members will be expected to head up a project to support Upper Council and the Command Echelon. Council rank time commitments are progressive.

Master Sgt (MSG) / 1st Sgt (1SG)

The MSG performs dual roles within the clan. The MSG focuses on lower ranking members improvements while also possibly managing alternate programs, resources, or minor delegated projects. There can only be ONE 1st Sgt in the clan. The 1Sgt typically manages the lower enlisted members to assist the SGM, the CSM, and the SMD as needed. Preparing for SGM. 1Sgt rank is typically an honorary position with special privileges defined by superiors in lower Council.

Sergeant Major (SGM)

The SGM is very well versed in [da] tactics and strategy, team operations administratively, and members’ progress in most areas. He often monitors member progress and reports up the chain. The SGM often solves problems WITHIN the enlisted ranks. The SGM is interested in ensuring members are progressing, improving, and remaining dedicated via team efforts. Preparing for CSM.

Command Sergeant Major (CSM)

The CSM is accustomed to making executive decisions and often solves problems DELEGATED by superiors in regards to the enlisted ranks. The CSM often performs short-term tasks for higher-ranking Council members. He may delegate multiple manor tasks initiated by Upper Council. Preparing for SMD, unique ranks, or Upper Council ranks.

Sergeant Major of DA (SMD)

The SMD is the father of all the Regulars Echelon. The SMD carries unique admin commitments, responsibilities, and privileges issued by higher-ranking members or upper Echelon members. The different tasks issued range from training to disciplining our members. When the SMD takes action…it is usually on direct order. The SMD may liaison often with Unique ranks or Upper Council. Only 1 member in the clan can hold this position. Our SMD is the top enlisted member in [da] and his primary interest is two-fold. He leads his subordinates AND nurtures them according to Command executive orders whether mostly indirectly. All members should respect this position… from top to bottom. Preparing for Upper Council or Unique Ranks.

___________________________________________________________________________

UPPER COUNCIL RANKS:
Upper Council members will be expected to manage and support the Command Echelon. All Upper Council consists of Clan officers. Upper Council members start to receive special access to [da] resources and assets as needed.

Second Lieutenant (2LT)

This is the 1st Upper Council rank, committed to clan functionality. Expected to assist in multiple minor administrative projects. Preparing for 1st Lieutenant.

First Lieutenant (1LT)

This is the 2nd Upper Council rank continuing support for leadership often partnering with the 2LT and also works for superiors to execute requests from superiors. Preparing for Captain.

Captain (CPT)

An LTC may have 2 MAJs performing roles for 2 different projects. Preparing for Full Bird Colonel.

Colonel (COL)

This is the 6th Upper Council rank relying heavily on subordinate Council members. This is the final Upper Council rank guiding Regulars indirectly and Council directly …in a single united direction while promoting, supporting, and accomplishing Command requests. This is the highest rank in Council. This rank is the Go-between for Command and all other organized units and projects within Team .da. The COL will manage lower officer ranks (LTCs mainly). Preparing for Command status as a BG.

___________________________________________________________________________

COMMAND RANKS:
Command has exclusive access rights and authority to ALL information, material, tools, and resources to create and/or implement Clan Vision. Command is governed by unified agreement within the same Echelon and must be supported by Council typically but not necessarily through official board meetings or web postings. No “one” Commander has the authority to control or manipulate anything, especially policy, without concurrence within Command or vote within the board where Upper Council is present. If Command stops existing then the clan itself will no longer exist. NO COMMANDER can be removed from the clan without proper mutiny procedure or prior submittal into the reserve rank structure for at least 1 month. Commanders carry the burden and responsibility for keeping Team DA “ALIVE and BREATHING” while simultaneously growing. Commanders also create and implement clan vision and manage Upper Council members or Unique Ranks and they’re multiple tasks, goals, projects, or purposes. A single Commander can operate and manage Team [da] as long as there is concurrence by a fellow Commander and an Upper Council COL. Multiple Command positions exist to ensure full functionality of the clan in the absence of key members within the leadership structure. Command ensures functionality in the volatile online environment that we exist. Ultimately, Command is concerned about Vision, Growth, Online Entertainment, and Positive Evolution within the online world that includes many phenomenon's.

Brigadier General (BG) 1 Star General (1slot)

The BG will submit upper Command requests down to Colonel rank for completion. He can promote/demote members in all Echelons with exception to Command members. He is the communications link between Upper Council and Command in support of clan vision. This General can write policy in support of clan vision to include rules and regulations but must be approved by the MG or above. The BG written policy is to be submitted with seal or signature of approval by MG rank or above.

*It is the mission of the BG to deliver upper Command requests to Upper Council in the most efficient manner ensuring completion and progress and to write policy to adapt to changes or promote growth and excellence…supporting clan vision.

Major General (MG) 2 Star General (1slot)

The MG can run the entire clan with support of the LTG, the Colonel, and the SMD as ranking members in board meetings where 3 of 4 votes are required when creating, implementing, or changing vision or removing/placing members from/into the reserve rank structure. The MG must approve BG policy verified in conjunction with upper Command concurrence. The MG and the BG often work together closely.

*It is the mission of the MG to approve/write new policy, with advisory discretion, to promote clan growth. The MG is the first Command position that “creates” clan vision and direction. He must also work with Upper Command in support of clan vision.

Lieutenant General (LTG) 3 Star General (1slot)

This rank is geared towards providing a 3rd perspective on clan vision that may not be clearly visible. The LTG is responsible for keeping a well-rounded clan vision throughout Command. Expected to provide a clear view providing visible pitfalls to current clan vision. The LTG often works closely with Upper Command. Preparing for GEN rank.

*It is the mission of the LTG to monitor, improve, execute, or terminate with discretion current active or inactive clan vision and policy guiding clan evolution. The LTG also approves and / or reviews ideas and new policy submitted from the clan GEN or GOA for official acceptance, support, or disagreement.

General (GEN) 4 Star General (1slot)

This position creates, defines, challenges, approves, and implements new clan vision/policy and delivers such to lower Command/Council for review or acceptance. The GEN is often crosschecking new vision with the clan commander with combined reference from the LTG of the clan or proper positions with authority. The GEN is responsible for ensuring growth and balance as well as proper channels for clan communications or proper vehicles for such. It is the mission of the GEN to assist the GOA in maintaining/creating an ethical and balanced and growing clan community. The Gen is also responsible for protecting all members from corrosive behavior, avoiding stagnant growth or policy, and adapting clan vision as required.

*It is the mission of the Gen to co-create clan vision and implement policy and procedures that support upper Command requests. Also, the General is required to protect the very name we call ourselves through personal efforts, practice, fairness, and consideration of the impacts that Command decisions may have on all Echelons.

General of the Army 5 Star General (1 slot) / If vacant, this position shall be filled by the next ranking General via unanimous decision or through mutiny procedure.

Expected to lead by example in all manners setting the pace and standards of the clan. Also required to faithfully support and guide all Echelons within the clan. The GoA is ultimately responsible for the vision we create and the direction in which we evolve. The GoA must ensure proper evolution, growth, and Loyalty of all echelons in the clan. The GoA relies heavily on the efforts and actions of lower Command/Council and is required to delegate authority often. This position shall never be vacant for extended periods beyond 2 weeks.
MUTINY PROCEDURE:
The GoA cannot be removed without unified concurrence from all existing Command members and the COL in Upper Council.

*It is the mission of the GoA to create clan vision and implement policy and procedures that direct the “survival” and “Expansion” of this clan. Also, the GoA is required to guide the future of [da] through Team concepts in game and through administrative avenues. The GoA must maintain ethics, balance, policy, growth, and stability while maintaining the clan Mission statement…”Dedicated to its members”, “More than a name…Endowed by Truth” holding true as a “Deadly Assassin”.

___________________________________________________________________________

UNIQUE RANKS:
These ranks are special action ranks. Warrant Officers have unique privileges and unique responsibilities. They answer to Command DIRECTLY and can sometimes supersede all Council authority and DO NOT have to disclose their intent if their orders are defined as “unique” and “from higher authorities ”by Command. Ultimately, their mission assists officers but also displays their commitment to Command Vision. Members wishing to confront Unique Ranked Members and their intentions must submit their burden to Command for review. The typical mission of a URed member may be to simply document certain impacts of programs created from Upper Council or Command in environments unhindered by leaders’ presence. Unique Ranks may be given unique access and privileges as needed to perform their functions. Unique Ranks are also preparation ranks based on Command delegation or Command Vision. Unique ranks are equivalent to ANY Upper Council rank depending on their Command driven purpose.

Warrant Officer (WO)

The WO4 is a trusted Council member with dedicated support behavior on a big picture level. He often assists other leaders in their operations of administration duties, execution of singular objectives, or covert projects designed to create an impact per objective. The WO4 is well adapted to making things happen within the arena below Command level. The WO4 is called upon to assist in very difficult projects or tasks. Most often, the WO4 does not work with the support of the team if necessary This is the first rank as a warrant . officer and the first rank related to covert operations, security, or any means needed that is deemed by Command as necessary. The WO4 will perform as part of a commission shared by the CWO and is directed as a separate entity from the normal rank structure for specific tasks. It is a temporary rank usually initiated in preparation for potentially unique promotion.

Chief Warrant Officer (CWO)

The CWO is responsible for many details that most members may never be aware and won’t be until this actual promotion is offered to the member. The CWO provides much background support as a go-between for Command. The CWO is commissioned by Command and initiates orders to the WO4 for execution and may even share in the task at hand as support or guidance. The CWO is NOT a temporary rank like the WO4. This rank is equivalent to any Upper Council rank and may be promoted into Command via Command discretion.
